Bioidentical Hormones - BHRT

Bioidentical Hormones are replacement hormones with a chemical makeup exactly the same as what the human body naturally produces.

Why should you use bioidentical hormones?

The real question is "Why wouldn't you use them?" Bioidentical hormones are compounds that have exactly the same chemical and molecular structure as hormones that are produced in the human body.  Bioidentical hormones have been successfully used by men and women for decades. In well known medical journals, researchers have reported that the bioidentical hormones, estrogen and testosterone, are not only safe but also have a positive impact on some diseases like osteoporosis and prostate cancer.

What are (BHRT) bioidentical hormone pellets?

Hormone pellets consist of the natural hormones estrogen and testosterone, which are derived from natural plant based ingredients. They are not synthetics or alien to our body. They are made by a compounding pharmacy and the pellet itself is smaller than a grain of rice. These hormones are then time released and constantly available for the body to use as needed.

What is the procedure for inserting pellets?

The insertion of hormone pellets is quite simple. The bioidentical hormone pellets are inserted under the skin in a minor in-office procedure. Using a mild anesthetic (like your dentist uses), an area of skin on the buttocks is made numb. A nick in the skin is made (not large enough to require a stitch) and hormone pellets which are smaller than the size of rice granules are inserted under the skin. Afterward, the skin is covered with a Steri-Strip. The whole procedure takes only a few minutes and lasts for many months!
